The Honda Fit is roomier inside than you might imagine, but some people still need more interior space. To fill that need, Honda will soon have the Fit Shuttle.
Based on the Honda Fit, of course, the Fit Shuttle is reported to use two powertrains, a hybrid using a 1.3-liter engine and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Either way, it appears sliding rear doors are not part of the package as they are on the diminutive Fit-based Freed peoplemover shown below.
With Mazda redesigning the Mazda5 minivan and Ford introducing the C-Max, it would seem that there might be a niche market for family vans smaller than the Odyssey and Grand Caravan. If you were planning the future of Honda’s U.S. lineup, would you introduce something like the Fit Shuttle?
