Laurence Gartel Turns Ferrari F430 Scuderia into a Rolling Piece of Art

Would you turn a supercar into a piece of art? Well, the answer to that question really depends on your definition of art. For some, a Ferrari F430 Scuderia is already a piece of art on its own, but for Laurence Gartel, this translates to a psychedelic looking vinyl wrap designed on a computer.

“A master artist is one that does not accept society’s rules. We have seen break out artists such as Dali in surrealism and Warhol in pop culture. GARTEL brought us the Digital Art Movement almost single-handedly,” said the CEO of ArtFellas LLC , the initiator and main sponsor of the "Ferrari 430 Scuderia into a Canvas" project.

According to ArtFellas, the artistic wrap also translates into a heftier price tag for the Ferrari, with the company stating that the F430 Scuderia is now valued at close to $1 million. Check out the photos and a video of the car after the jump.

It Came from eBay Hell: Toyota Celica-Based Ferrari F430 Replica

There are probably more Pontiac Fiero-based imitations in the world than real Ferraris. Today, though, we have something a little different. No, it is not a Pontiac Fiero-based Lamborghini Miura (we have already had one of them), it is a Toyota Celica that has been transformed into a passable F430 replica.

Did I say passable? Well, only just. From the front, it looks okay, with the hood, headlights and A-pillar being sufficiently F430-like. As you move back, however, it all starts to unwind. The awkward side window treatment, slab-sided rear flanks and the shape of the rear windscreen just seem wrong. Though you can’t expect much from trying to transform a front-engined, front wheel drive Japanese coupe in a mid engine, rear wheel drive Italian exotic.

Things only get worse inside; the interior is essentially stock seventh-gen Celica with stick on parts that are supposed to give the impression of a Ferrari interior. Suffice to say, it does not work. The seller is asking US$45,000 for a car that nominally pulls around $7,500 on the used market, a frankly ridiculous price. You can check out our gallery (if you dare) and leave your bit in the comments section below.

James Glickenhaus’ Ferrari P4/5 Competizione Starts Taking Shape

In 2006, American car collector James Glickenhaus took the world by surprise with his Enzo-based one-off Ferrari P4/5, built by Pininfarina. In the meantime, Mr. Glickenhaus decided to build a race version, too, dubbed P4/5 Competizione, which, initially, was scheduled to make its racing debut at this year’s 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Unfortunately, that never happened.

However, we're happy to report that the build is still underway. And there’s more: thanks to an update on a dedicated Facebook page, we can show you pictures depicting key moments of the assembly, available after the jump.

The P4/5 Competizione still has a long way to go until it’ll be capable of challenging other renowned racecars, but the featured images are impressive nevertheless.

Engineers made no compromises using carbon fiber for the entire body. Other bits and pieces are also visible, such as the roll-cage, pedals, brakes, various suspension elements and wheels.

As of yet, it’s unknown what Ferrari engine the racecar will use, but it has been revealed that the underpinnings are sourced from an F430 Scuderia.

Push and Pull: Ferrari F430 Spider on a Leash...

Even though it's an unfortunate situation to be in, we hope for the owner's sake that the reason why these men put are pushing and pulling this Ferrari F430 Spider has to do with the snow and the frozen roads, and not something relevant to the story line of the "Gone in 60 Seconds" film... More photos after the jump.

VIDEO: Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo Drives the New Stratos

After Pininfarina presented the New Stratos to the car's owner Michael Stoschek, the Italian design house invited Ferrari head-honcho Luca di Montezemelo to take it for a spin around the Fiorano circuit in Maranello.

According to the project's official website, Mr. di Montezemolo was very impressed with the New Stratos, openly praising it with exclamations such as "bellissima" and "congratulazioni". And that's not all, as the Ferrari CEO called his technical director, Roberto Fedeli, and suggested he should also take a look at the car.

Chief test driver Dario Benuzzi was next behind the wheel, pushing the new Stratos to its limits. With more than 40 years of experience in calibrating sport and racecars, Benuzzi concluded that the rear axle becomes a bit "agitated" during high speed cornering, but it can be "cured" by a bit more toe-in on the rear wheels.

Then again, given that the New Stratos is based on the F430 Scuderia's underpinnings, we weren't expecting anything but words of praise from the Ferrari brass. The next meeting with the New Stratos will take place at the official press unveiling at the Paul Ricard Circuit, in France in about a week's time.

Ferrari F430 Gets a Unique Paint Styling

ferrai 430 calavera

The Ferrari F430 is going to make its way quite soon with the replacement of the vehicle at Frankfurt show; two German firms have joined hands to give F430 a real unique style of branding with their efforts, these firms are Novitec Rosso and Unique Sportscars.

The new tattoo-style painting, which is a masterpiece of well-known airbrush artist Knud Tiroch, is going to answer many questions that are not asked usually including how it looks like if spent too much time with it on beach at Venice.

The full work over to this vehicle has been given by Novitec with its double superchargers that will offer it 707hp that is a lot more than F430 Evoluzione and that seems quite exceptional with TuNero version and with its adjustable suspension and requisite 20” wheels.

Some nice changes have also been introduced in the interior that adds daytime strip lights aside from front splitter, Novitec body kit and lots of other modifications.

With all these mods, the custom will be able to hit 60 in 3.5 seconds and it will be at 216mph at its top speed. According to Unique Sports Car, only 11 models of it to be introduced that really seems to make it a great choice for those who know that there is no accounting for taste. So, we can guess that will be offered only to some selected ones.
