The most exclusive Mercedes C-Class ever will also be the most powerful. Called the DR 520, only 20 versions of the car will be produced and if you’re lucky enough to actually get your hands on one you’ll have to go to Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands, Surrey to collect it.
Based on the C63 AMG, the DR 520 gets 59bhp and 50Nm more than the current flagship, which means power is up to 513bhp and 650Nm. And this is reflected in the DR 520’s stats too. 0-62mph is down to only 4.1 seconds and the top speed is limited at 187 mph. There will also be the option of an estate version which is only marginally slower at 4.2 seconds.
As well as a power upgrade, the DR 520 gets AMG’s performance pack as standard, which includes AMG’s high-performance braking system and a carbon fibre rear spoiler.
Available in either black or white matt paint, the DR520 also gets titanium finished alloy wheels, grille and some subtle DR 520 badging on the wing and boot lid. While inside the sports seats are made from a mixture of leather and Alcantara and the steering wheel is finished with Nappa leather.
The order books are already open, but if you want one it will cost you. The DR 520 starts from £62,430 for the saloon and the estate is £63,380, £10,000 more than the C63 AMG. For more details click here.
