Hyundai has released a teaser image of their new top of the range VI - the next Equus - expected to be revealed in February next year. The VI will not only aim to compete in the company's domestic market but there is also speculation that it will be sold overseas, particularly in China.
The design features a distinctive upright, three-box rear-wheel-drive profile and two flowing bodyside character lines around both front and rear wheelarches. Measuring 5.2m long, 1.9m wide, 1.5m high and with a wheelbase longer than 3m, the VI will be the largest Hyundai passenger vehicle ever produced.
Two engine choices will be available, 3.8-liter six-cylinder and a 4.6-liter V8. A long wheelbase version powered by a 5.0-liter engine is expected in the second half of 2009.
