There’s a facelift on the way for Ferrari’s flagship – and here’s the picture to prove it! Thanks to our Dutch sister magazine, Auto Week, we can bring you this spy shot of Ferrari’s new 612 Scaglietti, which has been snapped near to the Italian supercar maker’s home in Maranello.
As you can see, the new model won’t be radically different to the current car – it’ll get new lights, a revised grille and a new bonnet with a larger bulge – but, according to our sources, it’ll be much more efficient.
Tweaks will be made to the 540bhp 5.7-litre V12 not to improve power but fuel economy and emissions. At the moment the £212,000 machine returns just 13.8mpg combined and emits 470g/km of CO2 – and Ferrari engineers will be seeking to significantly improve both these figures.
However, it’ll still be just as fast with a 0-60mph time of around four seconds and a 199mph top speed. Expect the new 612 Scaglietti to go on sale in the summer of 2010, follwing a debut at the Geneva Motor Show next year. For more details click here.
